Brave New World - Chapter 3 - Take A Chill Pill

"Six years later it was being produced commercially. The perfect drug" (Huxley 53).

In the statement technology and science will benefit humanity in the future, this is highly relatable to the statement above. This "perfect" drug also known as "soma" is the pill that gets everyone to be controlled in every way possible. With advancements like this, humanity can find a cure and help prevent certain diseases. Just a small pill can change a large portion of the population. Also, with a big discovery like this medicine, imagine what the scientists and doctors will discover in the future. For example, trying to find new medicines for new diseases will be much faster compared to today's world. With this new technology, they were able to creat a small pill to have full control of everyone. The human  race will have even more to offer in the future because of the technology in the future, it's more advanced and quicker and helpful compared today. With a new technology built the possibilities of new materials are endless.

Brave New World, Chapter 2 - Sleep-training

"The principle of sleep-teaching, or hypnopaedia, had been discovered" (Huxley 24).

In defending the statement, scientific and technological advancement benefit humanity, this extract proves how technology will help us discover new advancements that we are not even aware of. Hypnopaedia, also known as "sleep teaching", has transformed the way everyone can be educated. This new form of technology can help children who are not able to get an education will play a massive role in their lives. This can also benefit children who struggle in class and are not able to comprehend as well as others can. With this new method, there will be a surplus of resources and money for any type of emergency needed in the future.  The term, "time is money", will also play a big role with this new technology. When one is sleeping they have an advantage of absorbing new information and can also help review certain things that they don't remember.

Brave New World, Chapter 1 - Technology vs Nature

"For in nature it takes thirty years for two hundred eggs to reach maturity. But for our business is to stabilize the population at this moment, here and now. Dibbling out twins over a quarter of a century - what would be the use of that? Obviously, no use at all. But Podsnaps' Technique had immensely accelerated the process of ripening. They could make sure of at least hundred and fifty mature eggs within two years" (Huxley 6).
In defending my anchor statement, "Scientific and technological advancement benefit humanity", the quote stated above shows how more advance this new technology is. This type of technology advancement would be a helpful tool to humanity because it has even wider and faster range for humans to reach maturity overtime. Suppose the earth is declining in population rapidly, we have this new technology to make a massive amount of eggs to mature at a faster rate compared to producing naturally. Another beneficial factor is we have a less percentage rate of failed child birth. This is a more cautious and safer way to help produce children more. We also have a wider control of what we can create and how we can create them. This will also benefit the less fortunate people who can't pay for hospital bills to birth their children or have a father figure to lean on. Overall, this would be a benefical factor for humanity.

Brave New World (Anchor Statement)

I will be defending the statement, "Scientific and technological advancement benefits humanity".
